A key characteristic of delivering and maintaining a genuinely personal service to our clients rests in the quality of the relationships which we build, not just with our clients but also with their other professional advisers. We work closely alongside professional advisers in the UK and around the world, and nearly all of our clients are referred to us by their existing trusted professional advisers.
Increasing numbers of financial advisers are concluding that they need to partner with a specialist asset management firm to provide their clients with a first class investment management service. We have a well-established infrastructure for assisting financial advisers in this field and we have many long-term partnership arrangements in place. We can offer a flexible service which recognises that advisers want to retain their “trusted adviser” role and their clients want an unbiased, client-centric approach. The specialist nature of our business ensures that we achieve the best results for both the client and adviser.
Under our partnership arrangements:
- We appoint a named portfolio management team to be responsible for client portfolios. The team, led by one of our senior managers, is responsible for giving advice on asset allocation strategies, constructing portfolios and implementing the day-to-day investment decisions across the client portfolios. The portfolio management team work alongside the advisers to ensure that investment strategies for each client evolve as circumstances change. The team includes a client service support member to answer any administrative questions and provide valuation reports when requested.
- We provide long-term support by means of on-line valuations, regular seminars, training sessions on all aspects of our business together with regular updates on our global investment policy.
Professional advisers work hard to maintain the high levels of service and attention that their clients want and expect. Our aim is to help you in this task, by ensuring that the service levels we provide you and your client meet or exceed expectations.
Our services to you
We see our role as being entirely complementary to yours, and this is supported by our lack of involvement in general financial planning. We respect that the client’s primary relationship rests with you, and we ensure that everything we do for your client acknowledges this. For example, our periodic reporting is structured to be via your firm, and we never approach clients directly without your prior approval. Our meetings and dialogue with clients always include you as their lead trusted adviser.
We keep you closely in touch with everything that we do for your client; this includes:
- Copies of all correspondence, or originals for onward transmission to your client if appropriate
- Copy reporting – available in hard copy or on CD-ROM, or both
- Internet access to up to date valuations of your clients’ portfolios
- Access to your client's portfolios via the iPhone and iPad - the first UK private wealth manager to provide such a service.
Remuneration
Remuneration of professional advisers is normally an issue which we expect to discuss in detail at the outset. Where appropriate, and required by the adviser, we are in a position to include an introductory commission as well as ongoing renewal fees. The keynote of what we do is flexibility, coupled with a clear, simple and competitive pricing formula which your clients understand. Renewal fees are normally paid to professional advisers monthly or quarterly, depending on your preference.
