It's a cliché, but we are well aware that the quality of what we do depends very heavily on the people that we employ, not just in the investment team, but throughout every function of the business.

It's therefore no accident that the majority of the people who work at Berry learnt their skills in major global financial institutions.

Individual skills, collective excellence
Global financial institutions are very good at training people, and installing the necessary disciplines for working life. However, an irony of working for a major institution is that very often, the better you are at doing a job, the less time you end up doing it. As a result, many individuals decide to return to what they actually enjoy doing, and become involved in a company where their own individual effort is more easily measured, and actually matters.

Contact at all levels
All of our clients benefit from both lead and support investment manager back up. In addition, we like our clients to have a senior, named contact on the administrative side of things.

A financial services business cannot boast about personal service levels if their staff keep moving on. Generally, ours don't. We try very hard to keep our people. We allow our people to maintain their own identity, and continue to develop their skills.

Our telephones are answered by human beings. That's considered a bit old fashioned, but we think everyone prefers it.
