The wealth management sector is overcrowded, which makes the task of finding the right investment manager less easy than it should be. There are simply too many firms, often trying to do too many things. A lot of so-called wealth managers are obsessed with selling products rather than advising people.  This can cause a fundamental rift in the relationship between adviser and client.

We are different. We focus on just one core aspect of the advice giving process, namely investment management, we do not offer traditional financial planning. This business is hard enough, without also trying to dispense advice to private clients on the myriad other financial and tax related issues that they face. We are convinced that this is best left to dedicated professional advisers; this is why so many of our clients are introduced to us by them. We believe this is a genuinely complementary, three way relationship. Professional advisers are at the very centre of what we do.  Furthermore, our own money is managed alongside our clients' portfolios, thus ensuring complete alignment between us and you.

Since September 2010 the firm has been led by its new Chief Executive Officer, Jamie MacLeod, who has freed me up to concentrate entirely on our clients and longer term strategy.
